Jurkje is af!

Het lijkt wel of ik niks maak op naailes, maar dat is niet helemaal waar. Ik doe hele avonden heel weinig meer dan kletsen, maar uiteindelijk komt er toch iets uit.
It seems as if I don't do anything at all in sewing class, but that is not entirely true. I spend many evenings just chatting, but in the end something is created.

Dit jurkje bijvoorbeeld. Al een hele tijd geleden aan begonnen. Eerst getekend, patroon gemaakt en toen genaaid. En het is best een leuk dingetje geworden. Het is alleen verschrikkelijke stof. Het glijdt alle kanten op en is lastig te strijken. Ik heb er zelfs toen hij eigenlijk al klaar was, een gat ik gestreken. Moest de hele bovenkant worden aangepast!
This dress for instance. Started on it a while ago. First made the drawings, made the pattern and then started to sew. It turned out not too bad. Only the material is a nightmare. It slides all over the place and it is hard to iron. Even after I had finished the dress I burned a hole in it. I had to adjust the top half!

De mouwen zijn wel mooi geworden.
Ik wilde eerst knoopjes met stof overtrekken, maar dat was geen doen met die hele kleine knoopjes. Ik begrijp niet hoe ze dat bij bruidsjurken doen...
I do like the sleeves. At first I wanted to cover the buttons with the fabric, but the buttons were too small. I don not understand how the do that with wedding dresses...




Mijn vinger gaat een stuk beter, dank je voor het vragen. Het verband heb ik er net afgehaald. Ik kon er echt niet mee typen.

Als je goed kijkt zie je nog een beetje bloed zitten. Da's voor het effect, ik ga hem zo wassen!
If you look closely there's a bit of blood left. That's for the effect, I'll wash it in a minute!

Ik heb nog even zitten vogelen met het spul dat ik van Heidi van Your Illusion had gekregen, maar dat wordt nog niet veel. Het is eigenlijk te dun voor wat ik er mee wilde, maar weer te dik om mee te vlechten.
I have been playing a bit with the stuff I got from the flower shop, but it doesn't look like much.
It's too thin for what I want with it and too thick for braiding.

Hier mijn poging. Het ziet er niet uit. Alleen dat paarse stukje is er geschikt voor.
Ik denk dat dit een gevalletje wordt voor in mijn voorraad: Leuk, maar toch niet.
Heb ik eigenlijk helemaal geen ruimte voor in mijn fijne kamertje!
Here's my attempt. It doesn't look good. Only the puple bit is suitable. I think this is one of those cases I stash away: Nice, but no.
I haven't got the room for all that stuff though!
